Eye Kajal: Every Girl’s Best Friend

Kajal is a basic necessity for every woman. It is the one cosmetic you will find all women using. We get so used to it, that it is impossible to step out of the house without having it on. Kajal is typically used to darken the lower part of the eye. You have separate kajal eyeliner for the top part as well. It's effortless to use and apply; a skill you acquire over time. It might sound simple, but kajal has a profound effect. Once you start using it, it is impossible to stop. Eye kajal originally came in black. Today, you have kajal sticks in all sorts of colors. Women use kajal for eyes all over the world. Kajal was originally called Kohl. This is an Arabic term. The first instance of kajal usage seems to be from ancient Egypt, where it was used to treat eye ailments. They believed that it would also protect the eyes from the sun. You can find various versions of kajal used across the globe. Under different names, kajal for eyes has been used by Africans, Egyptians and Indians.

Kajal In The Right Form

Kajal was originally made of herbs. Today, with innovations, it is used for various forms of eye makeup. There are different styles in which you can apply kajal. More importantly, you can find it in various forms. Here are the forms you can find today.

Gel

Gel Kajal's are the next big thing. They don’t smudge as much as a pencil or liquid liner. They are easier to control too. You can do all sorts of eye makeup using gel kajals. You can experiment with different styles too. Highly, VLCC and Blue Heaven are few companies that are known for their gel kajal.

Pencil

This is the most common form of eye kajal you can find today. It is highly convenient; all you have to is draw under your eyes to apply the kajal. The best part of this kajal is that it is very dark. If you like heavy eye makeup, go for the kajal pencil. It also lasts longer than the other types. You have kajal pencils by brands like Revlon, Maybelline, and L’Oreal Paris. These are the most popular kind you can find in the market. It is also a lot easier to hold and apply on the eyes.

Powder

This is a more traditional form of kajal for eyes. It is also known as Surma. It is much darker than the other types. Use a brush to apply it over your eyes. It is the best way to go if you want to have smokey eyes. Surma Chand Marka and Pears both sell kajal powder.

Cream

This is incredibly easy to apply. It is a type of kajal you must experiment with. Kajal creams are last longer, and the product is also very economical.  Try the different types of kajal, and go for the one that suits you best. Kajal eyeliner also comes in many colors. Apart from the original black color, you can buy blue, green, red, and turquoise kajal products. New and fresh colors on the market are white and gray.  You can try all sorts of combinations with more than one color too!

How To Wear Kajal

They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul. Whether they are or nor, kajal certainly helps them look the part. You need to apply kajal the right way for good impact. Always start applying on the corners of the eyes. Drag it along the waterline. Be sure to run it through more than once if you want it to be dark. Be sure to clean your eyes before putting the kajal on them. Another important part most people ignore is removing the kajal before going to bed. You can do so using cotton. It barely takes a few minutes; plus, this way, your eyes will look fresh and bright the next time you use kajal for eyes.
